I am fascinated by ideas around the psychology of perception, where looking, seeing, thinking and imagining can merge to create that ‘aha’ moment. When imagination and thinking combine one can see something familiar in a completely new way. This notion is the crux of my work and the way I make sense of my personal and wider world.

Visions in my Shower, Handprinted Type C, 30 x 20cm

In my shower I had a moment of awakening - the ordinary shower-cap, taps and soap became a demented face to me, a symbolic emblem of the horrors of the war. Reproducing this moment photographically was a seminal act that has informed my work ever since.
